Privacy Policy for PDF Scanner
Last updated: 2026-08-16
This policy explains what data PDF Scanner ("the app") collects, why, and how you can
control or delete it.
Who this policy is for
PDF Scanner is developed by OrbitApps ("we", "us"). Contact us at
ronkdy1@gmail.com with any privacy questions or requests.
What we collect
- Camera images. When you scan a document, the app captures photos via your device
camera (through Google's ML Kit Document Scanner) and processes them on-device to
produce cropped, enhanced scans and PDFs. These files are stored in the app's private
storage on your device.
- Account information. If you create an account (email/password or Google sign-in),
we collect your email address and an authentication identifier, via our backend
provider, Supabase. This is used solely to let you sign in and sync your documents.
Creating an account is optional — the app's scanning and editing tools work without
signing in.
- Synced documents. If you enable cloud sync (off by default), your scanned pages
and generated PDFs are uploaded to your private, per-account cloud storage so you can
access them across devices. Access is restricted to your account (see "How your data
is protected" below).
- Purchase information. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by our
payments partner, RevenueCat, and by Google Play Billing. RevenueCat receives your
purchase/transaction history and, if you're signed in, links it to your account
identifier so your entitlement is preserved across devices.
- Advertising data. Free-tier use of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob.
AdMob collects your advertising ID and device/usage signals to serve and measure ads.
You can see and reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your
device's Google settings.
- Crash and diagnostic data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect
crash reports and basic device diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version) to
help us fix bugs. This does not include your scanned document content.
We do not collect location, contacts, or any data beyond what's described above, and we
do not sell your data to third parties.
How your data is protected
- Each account's documents and files are isolated at the database and storage level —
your data is not accessible to other users.
- Your authentication session is stored encrypted on your device.
- Scanned documents and your session are excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup.
Your controls
- Delete individual documents at any time from the app's library. This removes the
document from your device. If the document was previously synced to the cloud (cloud
sync enabled), the cloud copy is removed when you delete your account (below); it is
not yet removed individually when you delete just the local copy.
- Delete your entire account from Settings → Delete Account. This immediately
and permanently deletes your account, all synced documents, and all associated cloud
storage files, and wipes local data on the device you deleted it from. This action
cannot be undone.
- Sign out at any time from Settings; your documents remain synced to your
account for when you sign back in.
